Dragon -Pure entertainer with a much needed social message

Dragon, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and acted by Pradeep Ranganathan received mixed reviews after the trailer was released because it resembled Sivakarthikeyan's ''Don". But after the release of the movie audiences started praising the movie for commercial aspects in combination with it's social message. The movie targets the students who are distracted and influenced by films where heroes are portrayed disrespecting teachers and having an careless attitude towards studies and career.

        

The movie revolves around Raghavan(Pradeep Ranganathan) who was academically well performing student. He decided to become rogue when his proposal was rejected by his school Crush because she prefer '' bad boys''. After being selected in a good college is academic performances went down due to which he had 48 arrears when his friends were placed in other companies. He didn't clear his even after 2 years but wasted his time by lying to his parents that he is working in an IT company. His college love Keerthi(Anupama parmeshwaran) because of his irresponsibility and ended up marrying another guy. Raghavan approached a consultancy which creates fake certificates and also fake interviews, through which he got placed in a good company with the 6 digit salary. With life getting better, he was about to marry opulent Pallavi(Kayadu Lohar) who decided to marry him for his good qualities and determination of rising from rags to riches. Things went south when his College Principal Mayilvaahanam(Mysskin) found his scam and leaned on him to come back to college to clear the arrears. Rest of the film is about whether Raghavan clears the arrear and tie the knot  with Pallavi. 

Pradeep Ranganathan as Raghavan played his role so fantasically that every adult could relate with. Most of the scenes resembled his role as Pradeep in ''love today''.Mysskin's role as the principal was extraordinary and inspiring. The female leads did their part gracefully. The social message that followed made it a family entertainer too. Music by Leon James  is outstanding.
